ORLANDO, Fla. — County leaders around Central Florida are monitoring the cold weather being brought by a major storm system this weekend.
Flagler and Lake counties are the only local counties to confirm cold weather shelters are being opened.

Lake County will will activate shelters for those vulnerable to cold weather.
Trinity Assembly of God, located at 200 Urick Street in Fruitland Park and LifePointe Church, located at 3551 E. Orange Avenue in Eustis, will open both Monday and Tuesday nights from 5 p.m. until 7 a.m. the following morning.
Masks are required at all cold weather sheltering locations, and the Florida Department of Health will be conducting COVID-19 screenings at each shelter as well as offering hepatitis A, flu, and COVID-19 vaccinations.
LakeXpress will provide free transportation to riders who indicate they are traveling to a cold weather shelter.
According to a press release, buses will transport people from designated stops in Leesburg, Clermont and Eustis after 5 p.m.
The CDC now also requires all riders of public busing systems to wear an appropriate face covering that covers both the nose and mouth for the duration of the ride.
Residents who are not able to make the designated pick-up locations can call Lake County Connection at 352-742-2612 to schedule a pick-up.

Flagler County said The Sheltering Tree will open cold-weather shelters Sunday and Monday nights at the Church on the Rock on 2200 North State Street for anyone in need.
The shelter will be open from 5:30 p.m. to 8 a.m. each day.

Volusia County officials said as of Friday afternoon, Sunday and Monday nights have the potential for temperatures to drop below 40 degrees. In which case, there is probability that shelters may open on these nights.
As of Friday, the details on shelters opening in Volusia County have not been confirmed.
Orange, Osceola, Lake, Seminole and Sumter counties all replied to Channel 9′s request for more information and confirmed they are not planning to open any cold weather shelters at this time.
