Brightline resumes Orlando to West Palm Beach service after flooding

High water levels along the rail corridor caused the suspension of service starting early last week

ORLANDO, Fla. — Brightline resumed regular train service between Orlando and West Palm Beach Thursday after flooding in Brevard County halted trains earlier this week.

Service between West Palm Beach and Miami remained operational throughout the suspension.

The Orlando–West Palm Beach route had been closed since Monday because of high water along the rail corridor. Brightline later extended the suspension as crews assessed conditions.

Service resumed after water levels receded, repairs were completed and Florida East Coast Railway inspected and cleared tracks, signals and crossings along the affected route.

Rail infrastructure crews coordinated the work with Florida East Coast Railway and Brevard County Emergency Management.
