OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — A second man has been arrested and charged with the murder of a Puerto Rican man.
Jose Acosta-Gautier, 33, was arrested Thursday. He is the brother of David Acosta-Gautier, who was arrested earlier this month and charged with the murder of Tomas Cintron-Echevarria.
Cintron-Echevarria was shot in the head and found in a burned rental vehicle Nov. 24 at 5200 Canoe Creek Road in St. Cloud, deputies said. Towels and luggage was also found inside the vehicle, deputies said.
Jose Acosta-Gautier came in voluntarily for questioning about the homicide and he was arrested on Thursday, deputies said.
A judge denied his bond.
According to an arrest warrant obtained by Eyewitness News, David Acosta-Gautier rented rooms at two local motels for Cintron-Echevarria. The brothers stopped using their cellphones at the hotel, then their cellphones were later pinged at the burning car location on Canoe Creek Road, deputies said.
Deputies said they found evidence of a recent purchase of towels and a cocaine deal in David Acosta-Gautier’s trash.
