ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A chiropractic assistant faces allegations of inappropriately touching two women who went to a chiropractor for treatment.

The surgeon general determined that Juan A. Baro could present a significant danger to female patients and issued an emergency restriction under which he is allowed to treat men, but not women.

Two women said Baro took off their underwear and touched them inappropriately last March and April at Your Place Medical Center in Orlando.

Staff told Channel 9’s Janine Reyes he is no longer working at the facility.

An emergency action unit reviewed the allegations and shared the findings with the state surgeon general, who determined that there is a "significant likelihood that Mr. Baro will cause harm to female patients in the future.”

Eyewitness News went to Baro’s home on Friday seeking comment.

“Sorry, sorry about that,” Baro told Reyes.

The emergency restriction bans Baro only from treating female clients in his role as a chiropractic assistant. His massage therapy license is still clear and active.

Your Place Medical Center would not say how long Baro worked there, or if employees have spoken with other clients about the allegations raised.
