BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A SpaceX explosion at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station Thursday morning shook homes and rattled nerves.

“It shook the house. Shook the sliding glass doors,” said Mark Ahrens, who lives in Titusville.

At first thought, people in the Fairglen neighborhood couldn’t figure out what happened. They live 20 miles away where the Falcon 9 rocket exploded.

“We were just sitting out back reading the paper and heard an explosion,” Ahrens said.

“I noticed all the cans and the boxes of macaroni and things were tipped over,” said Peter Morin, who lives in Port St. John.

Morin told Channel 9's Cuthbert Langley he heard two explosions.

“I really thought something hit the house. I had to look around to see. Didn't know what it was until it came on the TV,” Morin said.
