ORLANDO, Fla. — Universal Epic Universe announced Thursday that construction is underway on a new indoor roller coaster in Dark Universe, one of the theme park’s five lands.
The upcoming attraction will feature a story inspired by the Universal Monsters franchise.
The announcement comes just over a year after the official debut of Universal Epic Universe. According to Universal Orlando Resort, the ride will be located adjacent to Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment.
The coaster is part of a broader slate of upcoming experiences planned across the destination over the next two years.
At Universal Studios Florida, the reimagined Universal Horror Make-Up Show featuring Blumhouse is scheduled to open later in 2026.
Universal Studios Florida is also preparing for the debut of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, a high-speed roller coaster opening in 2027.
At Universal Islands of Adventure, a new signature full-service restaurant will open in Jurassic Park in 2027.
Additionally, Universal CityWalk will add the music and entertainment venue Luke Combs’ Category 10 in late 2027.
Universal Orlando Resort has not specified an exact opening date for the Dark Universe indoor coaster, stating that the ride is planned to open in the years ahead. Additional details about the attraction will be released at a later date.
