OCOEE, Fla. — A construction worker died after debris from a pile driver fell on his head, authorities said.
Officials said Guillermo Solis, 25, of Seville died at the hospital.
Solis was working on a project to widen State Road 50 in Ocoee near Bluford Avenue.
Channel 9's Mario Boone learned that Solis died when a wooden block atop the pile driver broke free and hit Solis.
The construction work is part of a $37 million Florida Department of Transportation road-widening project.
Investigators from the Occupational Health and Safety Administration will investigate the accident.
