ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A couple was found shot inside a car on Woodman Way in Orange County late Monday night, deputies said.
The victims, a man in his 40s and Renee McCormick, 36, were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Authorities said McCormick was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Residents who live in the area described hearing multiple gunshots shortly after 11 p.m.
"I stayed inside, because that was the safest place. It sounded huge. It was an automatic. Oh, yeah," witness Anthony Britt said.

Investigators were at the scene trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
"We know that a lot of people heard the sounds of the bullets and the gun being fired. Neither person in that car lived in that complex," said Jane Watrel, of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
The car that the victims were in was towed away. The Sheriff's Office said the gunman remains at large.
"We want to find out who would want to open fire on two people simply sitting in a car in an apartment complex that is relatively safe," Watrel said.
The name of the man who was shot has not been released. Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact the Sheriff's Office.
