ORLANDO, Fla. — Tropical Depression Cristobal became post-tropical Thursday morning, while two other areas continue to be monitored in the open Atlantic.

The 11 am advisory from the National Hurricane Center had Cristobal with winds of 30 mph.

It is now classified as a post-tropical remnant low in the central Atlantic and will continue to move quickly to the northeast.

Cristobal formed on Wednesday morning and is the third named storm of the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season.

Elsewhere in the Tropics, we continue to watch two other areas in the open Atlantic. The first area, known as Invest 92L, is in the open Atlantic and continues to move westward toward the Lesser Antilles.

The system exhibited signs of organization on Thursday morning and is expected to become a tropical depression within the next 48 hours.

The National Hurricane Center is giving this area an 80% chance of development.

Invest 92L will push into strong winds and dry air Friday into the weekend, which may weaken or hinder any organization.

Regardless of development, this complex could impact portions of the Lesser Antilles this weekend.

A second area of interest is also located in the open Atlantic and is moving westward. This area, known as Invest 94L, could slowly organize further over the next several days.
