SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla.,None — A Seminole County grand jury has returned a first-degree premeditated murder indictment against David Lee Hedrick, 50, of Apopka, for the 1991 murder of Betty Claire Foster.
The grand jury heard testimony from two witnesses, a Seminole County Sheriff’s Office investigator and a crime scene technician, before returning the charge.
Foster was working alone at a computer store near Casselberry on Jan. 31, 1991 when she was killed, and a customer discovered her slain on the floor of the store.
Hedrick was arrested earlier this month when a DNA database matched submissions he provided with evidence recovered more than 20 years ago at the murder crime scene.
Hedrick was required to provide the DNA samples after an unrelated 2011 conviction for grand theft of state funds. He remains in the Seminole County jail without bond.
