Daytona Beach access ramp to close through early 2027

Silver Beach ramp will close Oct. 19 for accessibility and storm-resilience improvements

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Volusia County will temporarily close the Silver Beach access ramp to vehicles and pedestrians beginning Oct. 19.

The closure is expected to continue through early 2027 while crews complete infrastructure, accessibility and storm-resilience improvements.

The project includes:

  • Reconstructing the concrete ramp
  • Relocating family-style restrooms farther from the shoreline
  • Adding sidewalks and curbing
  • Updating lighting and electrical components
  • Completing structural and landscaping improvements

County officials said relocating the restrooms will help reduce the risk of damage during coastal storms.

Beachgoers can use other access points during construction, including the International Speedway Boulevard ramp.

The county recommends using the Volusia Beaches app to find nearby access points and review current beach conditions.
