DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Authorities in Volusia County are actively searching for a man accused of robbing a bank in Daytona Beach on Thursday.
Investigators said they have already recovered some evidence from a nearby wooded area after the man robbed the Fifth Third Bank on XXXX XXXX.
Authorities said a man passed a note to the teller that read, "Give me all of your 100's and 20's. This is not a joke."
When the robber got the money, he ran into the woods, witnesses said.
Officials said the robber left some clothes and an exploded die pack from the money bag.
Police were able to get a scent off of those items and tried to track the man down.
Police said the bank had lost power shortly before the robbery due to storms in the area. They said bank managers chose to lock its doors as a precaution, but police said the man waited for the bank to reopen and even stood in line inside for a few minutes before robbing the bank.
No injuries were reported.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
