VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Volusia County Public Schools is extending its deadline for parents to decide which schooling option they want for their children by two days.
The district sent out a survey last week with its three options.
Parents can choose to have their child go back to the traditional classroom, participate in real time from home or do it all virtually at their own pace.

Volusia County School Board member Ruben Colon has been hosting his own information session to help explain the options to parents.
“The parents are very concerned about them returning to the school building, so how those services will be delivered has been one of the hottest topics,” Colon said.
Volusia’s virtual school last year had just 150 of the district’s 63,000 students sign up. As of Monday, more than 5,400 have enrolled in that option.
The district's next Spanish-speaking session is scheduled for Wednesday at 10 a.m.
Parents must submit their choice by Thursday at noon.
