ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A deadly crash shut down a stretch of Turkey Lake Road in Orlando early Monday.

State troopers responded around 1:30 a.m. to the crash south of Westgate Lakes Boulevard.

Florida Highway Patrol said the crash involved a 2021 Audi RS 5 whose driver was speeding southbound on Turkey Lake Road.

Investigators said the man lost control of his car and sideswiped another southbound vehicle before traveling off the roadway.

The Audi then overturned several times, ejecting its driver, and caught on fire, according to troopers.

FHP said the driver, 36, of Orlando, died at the crash site.

The driver of the other vehicle — a Toyota Camry — suffered minor injuries, officials said.

Turkey Lake Road, which was shut down in both directions for hours, fully reopened around 7:30 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
