MIMS, Fla. — A deadly crash has shut down a down a stretch of State Road 46 near Mims.
8:15 a.m. update:
FHP investigators said the crash involved two sport utility vehicles — a Ford Explorer and a Mitsubishi Outlander.
Troopers said the driver of the Ford, 36, of Lake Mary, was not hurt and remained on scene.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, yet to be identified, died at the crash site. A passenger suffered serious injuries and was transported to HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital in Sanford.
FHP said there is still roadblock for both directions on SR-46 from South Jungle Road to Hatbill Road.
A Channel 9 crew at the Hatbill Road/SR-46 roadblock, roughly six miles from the actual crash site, reported cars being turned around.
Troopers said the sequence of events that led to this crash is under investigation.

State troopers responded to a deadly crash at SR-46 and Morgan Alderman Road near Mims around 6:30 a.m.
