DeLand Catholic school evacuated after bomb threat

DELAND, Fla. — Students were evacuated from St. Peter’s Catholic School in DeLand Tuesday morning after school officials received a bomb threat, police said.

A man called the school Tuesday morning and threatened to blow up the building, prompting the evacuation, the DeLand Police Department said.

Students were led from the building and were taken to the first floor of DeLand City Hall, which is serving as a pickup location for parents, police said.

The building was searched and no explosive devices were found, investigators said.

An investigation into the threat is ongoing.
