Deputies arrest man accused of robbing Poinciana Walmart

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — A Massachusetts man was arrested Sunday afternoon after robbing a Poinciana Walmart at gunpoint, according to the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.

Harry Reyes Martinez, 46, entered the store on Cypress Parkway shortly after 5:30 p.m. and walked to Walmart’s MoneyCenter, the store’s check-cashing department, said Twis Lizasuain, a sheriff's office spokeswoman.

“He showed the employees a handgun and demanded cash before leaving the area on foot,” she said.

Lizasuain said no one was injured.

The suspect was then spotted leaving Food Spot, a nearby convenience store, and was arrested, Lizasuain said.

“He cooperated with the investigation and detectives were able to recover the clothing he wore and the stolen money,” she said.

Martinez was booked into the Osceola County Jail, where he was charged with armed robbery, grand theft and two counts of aggravated assault.
