ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Sheriff’s detectives are conducting a death investigation following a shooting in an Orange County neighborhood.
Shortly before 3 a.m. Thursday, deputies responded to an unresponsive man reported in the area of Campanella Avenue and Piedmont Street.
That’s near the Carver Shores neighborhood.
Deputies arrived and found that the man, in his 20s, had been shot.
He died at a hospital a short time later, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.
Channel 9 has was near the active crime scene early Thursday.
A stretch of Piedmont Street that was closed for hours finally reopened around 8:30 a.m.
OCSO did not say if detectives had any leads on a suspect or whether the agency had made an arrest in this case.
A spokesperson said the investigation remains in the early stages.
