Deputies search for gunmen in Orlando 7-Eleven shooting

ORLANDO, Fla. — Deputies are searching for gunmen in an Orlando shooting that sent three people to the hospital.

Police responded to a call at a 7-Eleven on Pine Hills Road and found the first victim, later identified at Maurice Maxim, lying on the sidewalk in front of the store with a gunshot wound in his leg and receiving medical attention from and Orange County deputy.

The deputy informed police of a handgun on the ground nearby.

Another deputy was speaking with two women, who complained to police that the deputy would not let them leave.

Police said Kritsten Buckley, one of the women, approached Maxim and started yelling that she was his girlfriend. After not complying with police orders, Buckley was restrained and placed into the back of a patrol car so police could focus on the scene, police said.

Police said they were informed of a victim who was shot in the leg in a parking lot of a Pizza Hut on North Lane and another victim who was shot in the buttocks at his home on Martins Way.

Police said a trail of blood outside the 7-Eleven led to several plastic bags, which appeared to contain a form of ecstasy called molly, and several bullet casings.

The trail of blood continued toward the Pizza Hut parking lot where the second victim was located, police said.

Police said a black Acura was found on North Pine Hills Road with a broken driver’s side window.

A witness near the car told police he heard gunshots and saw the car arrive on North Pine Hills Road about five to 10 minutes later with two black men in it. The witness said the men got out of the car and dropped a piece of glass in the woods.

Police towed the vehicle because they believe it was involved in the crime.

The witness said one man was bald and the other had twists in his hair. He said one of the men was wearing a white shirt and tan shorts and the other had on a dark shirt and jeans.

An employee from the 7-Eleven said a black man ran into the store bleeding and jumped over the counter. She said she, another employee, a woman and Maxim ran out through the back of the store and around the side of the building.

The employee said she saw a black man wearing a white tank top and jeans get into a black vehicle and drive away.

Buckley’s wallet was found inside the 7-Eleven with small bags of ecstasy that appeared to be identical to the ones found outside the store. Buckley denied any involvement in the crime.

An employee of the convenience store said Buckley had more drugs in her car and K-9 units identified an odor coming from her car.

All three victims of the shooting were transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center.
