ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Magic and Walt Disney World are expanding their longtime partnership with a new attraction inside the team’s downtown Orlando arena.

Disney announced Monday that it is creating the Walt Disney World Atrium at Kia Center, featuring projection technology designed to transform the fan experience during Magic games.

The new atrium is expected to bring an enhanced visual experience to the arena, using advanced projections to add to the atmosphere on game nights.

Disney and the Magic have been partners since 2010, with Walt Disney World becoming the team’s jersey sponsor in 2017.

Magic President Charlie Freeman said the relationship has been an important part of the organization’s history.

“If you think about all the NBA partnerships, I mean, Walt Disney World and the Orlando Magic, I don’t think you can think of a better partner you can have on our jersey,” Freeman said.

Freeman also confirmed the two organizations have signed a long-term agreement to continue their partnership.

However, he did not disclose the specific length of the deal or how long Disney will remain the team’s jersey sponsor.

The announcement builds on the connection between two of Central Florida’s most recognizable organizations, bringing Disney’s technology into the Magic’s home arena as the team looks to enhance the game-day experience for fans.
