CENTRAL FLORIDA — Your wallet might be a little sadder the next time you head to the happiest place on earth.
That’s because starting Sunday, Disney tickets will cost more than $100 a person.
Native New Yorkers Al and Leslie Tumielewicz were drawn to central Florida by the allure of Disney World.
They now live in Kissimmee and have never looked back.
“Orlando seemed like the fun place to be,” said Al Tumielewicz.
They first visited the parks when their daughters were 5 years old.
Now teenagers, times have changes and so has the price of admission.
“There’s the Florida resident discount, but it’s still tough,” said Al Tumielewicz.
A single-day ticket in the Magic Kingdom was about $60 for their first trip.
Starting Sunday, the price will break the century mark at $105 for adults.
“The magic band system was expensive and there was the new Fantasy Land. Someone has to pay for it, I guess it’s us,” said Leslie Tumielewicz.
The die-hard Disney family, like many others in Orlando, are season pass holders.
But they’ll admit it’s getting hard for the average family to afford the price hikes.
“You hear people saying, 'I can’t do it. I just can’t bring my family to Disney any longer,’" said Al Tumielewicz.
