ORLANDO, Fla.,None — The family of missing mom Michelle Parker extended their search for her to the Brevard-Orange county line on Saturday.
Deputies briefly resumed their search of an Orange County canal Saturday morning. Meanwhile, Parker's family was searching new territory near the Orange-Brevard county line.
WFTV was there as a Brevard County deputy on a four-wheeler assissted Parker’s family and volunteers with their search.
The group combed through a wooded area between SR 520 and the Beachline.
No one will say what has led the family to that area. It's nearly 15 miles from where Parker's cell phone last picked up a signal.
Also on Saturday, Parker's father sold T-shirts at Cooter Brown’s bar in Altamonte Springs. Family members are trying to raise money for the search effort, and to care for Parker's children.
Brad Parker said his daughter would love to see people coming together for her, and that she will one day find out about it.
"I know Michelle is a fighter just like me," he said.
He told WFTV he has not seen Parker's twins, who are in the custody of their father, but he has spent time with her 11-year-old.
"His little heart is broken, but it's mending," Parker said.
Brad Parker says he had to spend the day at work and he doesn't know what led searchers to Brevard County. He told WFTV that he thinks Parker’s ex-fiancée, Dale Smith Jr., could lead the family to his daughter.
"Dale, take a lie detector test, and come clean,” Brad Parker said.
On Friday, Parker’s family moved the command post on Oakridge Road in Orlando to The Barn, a bar in Sanford where Parker worked.
Parker's family says they want to search in the area where she lived in Seminole County, in hopes they will find new leads.
"The biggest thing, we do have to expand, you got to evolve every day with this," said Dustin Erickson, Parker’s brother. “Unfortunately if I could see in the dark, I'd be out searching in the dark.”
Meanwhile, co-workers held a silent auction to raise money for the search Friday night at The Barn.
Dive crews swarmed a new area in the search for missing mother of three Michelle Parker on Friday. Authorities won’t say if they have any leads in Seminole County, but the Orlando Police Department said they are continuing to search in Orlando.
The founder of Texas EquuSearch, Tim Miller, said on Friday that the search-and-rescue group will not aid in the search for Parker. Miller did not say why the group will not search for Parker. Miller flew back to Texas after flying into Orlando on Thursday at the request of prime suspect Dale Smith Jr.'s attorney.
Parker, a mother of three, was last seen on Nov. 17 after dropping off her 3-year-old twins with Smith, who is their father.
Dive teams searched another pond near Oakridge Road and John Young Parkway on Friday near where Parker's last cell phone ping was picked up.
The search area is about a mile from where deputies were on Thursday when they searched a wooded area near Lake Ellenor.
Divers crisscrossed through the muck, first horizontally and then vertically, in an effort to find Parker.
"We can't rule the lakes out, just like we can't rule the woods out or the neighborhoods out. It's just another area we're searching," said Sgt. Vincent Ogburn, Orlando police.
Meanwhile, Parker's family is moving their command post from Oakridge Road to the bar in Seminole County where Parker worked.
Parker disappeared after she appeared on a taped episode of "The People's Court" with Smith in a dispute over her lost engagement ring. During the episode, Parker also accused Smith of being so physical she once tried to get a restraining order against him.
A few hours after the episode aired, Parker dropped the twins at Smith's condo and has not been seen since. Parker's SUV was found the day after she vanished.
Police urge anyone with information about Parker's whereabouts to call 800-423-8477.
