Dr. Phillips HS student accused of slicing girl's face with box cutter during fight over boy

DR. PHILLIPS, Fla. — An Orange County high school student was arrested after authorities said she slashed another student with a box cutter.

The incident went down at Dr. Phillips High School Tuesday.

Channel 9's Jeff Deal learned the fight involved two girls and started because of a dispute over a boy. The fight broke out inside a bathroom, and one of the girls was allegedly cut in the face.

In a couple of recorded phone messages sent to parents, the principal said one of the students had a box cutter and the second girl sustained an injury that required medical attention.

After school Tuesday, one student told Channel 9 the victim was slashed across the face with the box cutter.
