Evacuations continue as brush fire burns 450 acres in Marion County

FORT MCCOY, Fla. — A 450-acre brush fire in Marion County has caused emergency personnel to evacuate dozens of homes.

The fire was reported at about 3 p.m. in Fort McCoy in the area of NE Highway 315, officials said.

By 7:30 p.m., 50 homes had been evacuated due to the fire but the only structure damaged was to a shed.

No roads were closed due to the blaze.

No other information on the fire was immediately released.
