ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Tropical Depression Fay remains a tropical depression in the eastern Atlantic, while a new Atlantic system is becoming more likely later this week.
The 11 p.m. advisory from the National Hurricane Center had winds of 35 mph.
The system is being severely impacted by dry air and wind shear, and it now expected to remain a remnant low by Tuesday.
Fay is moving slightly quicker to the south and but is expected to accelerate in the coming days and turn to the southwest.
The storm will remain out to sea in the open Atlantic.
Fay is the sixth named storm of the season.
Elsewhere, an area of interest in the open Atlantic could organize further by midweek.
This area, designated Invest 91L, is located southeast of Bermuda, and has shown some early signs of organization.
The National Hurricane Center is now giving this system a 60% chance of development, and it could become a depression in the coming days.
Invest 91L is also expected to remain out to sea.
Neither complex will impact Florida or the United States.
