The U.S. Department of Education’s office of Federal Student Aid has told Florida Career College, a Miami-based for-profit school with an Orlando campus, that its students no longer are eligible for federal aid.
According to the DOE, the college had nearly 5,000 students in late 2022. Its provisional participation in federal student aid programs expired on Sept. 30 and has been continuing on a month-to-month basis. Current Florida Career College students may continue receiving federal financial aid until Sept. 30. However, the college may not enroll new students using federal financial aid.
In fact, the Florida Career College no longer is enrolling any new students, according to its webside: “Until FCC completes the process with the Department of Education on this matter, the department has requested that we pause on enrolling new students until this is resolved.”
