FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — Flagler County Commissioner Andy Dance is asking local farmers, ranchers, growers, forestry interests and agricultural businesses to share challenges affecting their operations.
Dance became chair of the Florida Association of Counties’ Agriculture and Rural Affairs Policy Committee in July. The committee will use local feedback to consider potential changes to state laws, regulations, programs and funding opportunities.
Dance is seeking input on:
Proposed or needed changes to Florida law.
State regulations and agricultural programs.
Funding or cost-share opportunities.
Challenges tied to Florida’s population growth.
Other issues affecting agricultural operations and rural landowners.
“If there is a law, regulation, state program, funding limitation, or unintended consequence that is creating a problem, I am interested to know what it is,” Dance said.
Agricultural stakeholders who want to share feedback or schedule a meeting should email Andy Dance at adance@flaglercounty.gov by Monday, Aug. 31.
Local producers and agricultural businesses are encouraged to make their voices heard as statewide policy priorities are developed.
