PALM COAST, Fla. — A motorcycle crash on Belle Terre Parkway ended with the rider’s arrest after deputies discovered he was wanted in Mississippi and Missouri, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office.
Jaime Carrillo, 42, of Palm Coast, was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries following the single-vehicle crash Sunday night.
While the ambulance was en route to the hospital, deputies checked his information in state and national databases. Those checks revealed outstanding warrants in both states, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Discovery
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Carrillo had an active Mississippi warrant dating to 2024 for a parole violation related to dangerous drugs.
He also had three Missouri warrants for failing to appear on original charges involving stolen property, harassment and tampering with a victim.
Deputies went to the hospital, where they said Carrillo was refusing medical treatment and trying to get discharged. They took him into custody without incident.
Additional charges after the crash
Along with the out-of-state warrants, deputies arrested Carrillo on charges of:
- Operating a motor vehicle without a driver’s license.
- Operating a motorcycle without a valid motorcycle endorsement.
Carrillo was taken to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, where the Sheriff’s Office said he was being held without bond.
Sheriff Rick Staly credited deputies’ records checks with identifying the outstanding warrants before Carrillo left the hospital.
“I commend our team for doing their research, which uncovered he was a fugitive from justice and allowed them to catch him before he checked himself out of the hospital and disappeared again,” Staly said.
