PALM COAST, Fla. — People who live outside Palm Coast will pay 20% more than the standard fee for applicable paid Parks and Recreation programs beginning Wednesday, Oct. 28, under a new city pricing structure.
City residents will continue to pay the established resident rate. The non-resident adjustment applies across the department’s paid programs, rather than to just one facility or activity.
The city says the change follows a review of program costs and prices at comparable municipalities and recreation facilities. Officials say it will standardize pricing and help cover program and facility maintenance costs.
The announcement also includes separate fee changes and new operating hours at the Southern Recreation Center.
Who qualifies for the resident rate?
For these fees, the city defines a resident as a tax-paying resident living within Palm Coast city limits.
The resident rate will also be honored for 100% disabled veterans who do not pay taxes, provided their address is within city limits.
People who live outside Palm Coast city limits and are not city tax-paying residents fall under the non-resident category. Participants should review individual program descriptions and applicable fees when registering.
Southern Recreation Center fee changes begin in stages
Separate updates to Southern Recreation Center fees take effect Oct. 28, including changes to punch passes, daily admission, family daily passes and room rentals.
Updated rates for annual, monthly and limited monthly pickleball, tennis and combination memberships will take effect Dec. 1.
The city’s announcement did not list the new dollar amounts for those memberships and services.
New recreation center hours start Nov. 1
Beginning Sunday, Nov. 1, the Southern Recreation Center will operate on the following schedule:
- Monday through Friday: 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday and Sunday: 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Weekend reservations outside regular operating hours may be accommodated, subject to availability and approval.
