Passenger killed in rollover crash on S.R. 100 near Bunnell, FHP says

The collision involved two sedans and a pickup truck near Black Point Road around seven in the evening

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — A passenger was killed and three people were seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash Friday night on S.R. 100 west of Black Point Road, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 7:18 p.m., troopers said.

FHP said a sedan driven by a 28-year-old Bunnell man was traveling west on S.R. 100 behind a pickup truck when the sedan struck the rear of the truck.

The impact forced the pickup off the roadway and into a tree line, where it overturned, according to the crash report.

The sedan then rotated into the eastbound lane and collided with another sedan, driven by a 34-year-old Ormond Beach woman. The first sedan overturned and came to rest in a ditch on the south side of S.R. 100, troopers said.

A male passenger in the Bunnell driver’s sedan died at the scene. FHP said he was not wearing a seat belt; his identity, age, and hometown have not been released.

The Bunnell driver suffered serious injuries. The pickup’s driver, a 72-year-old Keystone Heights man, and its passenger, a 79-year-old Keystone Heights woman, were also seriously hurt.

The Ormond Beach woman and her 35-year-old male passenger were not injured, according to FHP.

S.R. 100 was shut down in both directions near Black Point Road while authorities investigated the crash Friday night.
