Florida driver applying deodorant crashes pickup, ends up on concrete barrier, FHP says

Troopers said a Florida man crashed into barrier while applying stick deodorant.

POLK COUNTY, Fla. — A 22-year-old Auburndale man escaped injury after his pickup truck crashed into a roadway safety device while he was applying stick deodorant Monday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The man was driving a GMC Sierra westbound around 7 a.m. on Monday on SR-570 near the 14-milepost when the crash happened.

According to FHP, the driver was traveling through a curve while simultaneously applying a stick deodorant.

The truck collided with a crash attenuator before coming to rest on top of a concrete barrier wall.

No injuries were reported.

FHP is investigating the crash and is reminding distracted driving can lead to a rise in car crashes.
