ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida’s average price for regular unleaded gasoline is now $3.90 per gallon, a slight increase from last week, while the national average nears $4.15, as reported by AAA Fuel Prices.
That’s about 80 cents more than a year ago, when Florida drivers paid roughly $3.08 a gallon. Filling a 15-gallon tank now costs about $12 more than it did during last year’s Labor Day weekend.
Across Central Florida, prices vary slightly by market:
- Daytona Beach: $3.91 regular; $4.36 mid; $4.72 premium; $5.69 diesel.
- Lakeland–Winter Haven: $3.84 regular; $4.26 mid; $4.61 premium; $5.67 diesel.
- Melbourne–Titusville: $3.87 regular; $4.32 mid; $4.67 premium; $5.70 diesel.
Across the state, the average prices are $4.34 for mid-grade, $4.68 for premium, and $5.68 for diesel per gallon.
AAA mentions that although prices have increased, they’re usually not the main reason travelers cancel their plans.
Many drivers in Central Florida are just choosing to keep their weekend trips closer to home, making the most of nearby adventures.
