ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol has launched its annual “Stuff the Charger” food drive, collecting non-perishable food items for families in need across Florida through Nov. 30.
Donations can be dropped off at any local Florida Highway Patrol troop headquarters, including the agency’s General Headquarters in Tallahassee. FHP is partnering with local community organizations to collect and distribute the donations during the holiday season.
Helping Florida families this holiday season
“Service is at the heart of everything we do,” Florida Highway Patrol Executive Director Dave Kerner said. “The ‘Stuff the Charger’ food drive is another way we can stand with our communities and support families who need a little extra help this season, especially following Hurricane Isaias. We encourage Floridians to join us in making a meaningful impact.”
Florida Highway Patrol Col. Gary Howze also highlighted the agency’s effort to serve residents beyond highway safety.
“Instilled in every Trooper is the call to serve. The Florida Highway Patrol is proud to once again partner with local organizations to serve the residents of Florida in a different way this holiday season by helping collect food donations for families in need,” Howze said. “Help make a difference in your community and help us ‘Stuff the Charger.’”
