STUART, Fla. — A Florida State University student accused of stabbing a man and his wife and then biting the dead man's face has arrived at jail after being released from the hospital.
A shackled and noticeably thinner Austin Harrouff didn't speak to reporters Monday as he was led to the SUV that took him to the Martin County jail.
The 19-year-old former bodybuilder had been hospitalized since the Aug. 15 attack on 59-year-old John Stevens and his 53-year-old wife, Michelle Mishcon.
Sheriff William Snyder said Harrouff was charged Sunday with two counts of first-degree murder.
Deputies say they found the then-muscular former wrestler in his underwear and making animal noises while pinning his victim to the ground and biting his face.
Snyder said the FBI is still conducting tests to see if Harrouff was on drugs.
