MIAMI — Former boy-band mogul Lou Pearlman died Friday, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons' website.
Pearlman was the creator of Trans Continental Records.
The record label included boy bands such as the Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, O-Town, LFO and Take 5.
He also managed artists such as Aaron Carter, Jordan Knight and C-Note.
In 2008, Pearlman was sentenced to 25 years in prison for running a $300 million Ponzi scheme out of his downtown Orlando office.
The Ponzi scheme wiped out the life savings of hundreds of investors, officials said.
Pearlman was 62.
