Funnel cloud flips U.S. Postal Service truck on bridge in Tampa Bay

TAMPA BAY, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol officials said the truck was on the bridge when the funnel cloud lifted the truck, flipping it on its side.

The driver Randall Leaver, 56, remained inside the truck and was not injured.

The narrow bridge has a cable-stayed main span and is more than 21,000-feet long.

Authorities said a nearby construction site was also damaged, several signs were knocked over and a small boat was overturned by the funnel cloud.
