Groveland extends deadline for The Groveys community recognition awards

GROVELAND, Fla. — The City of Groveland has extended the nomination deadline for its community recognition awards as preparations continue for the Inaugural Founders’ Gala on Oct. 10, 2026.

Brighthill has signed on as the founding sponsor of the gala, which benefits local non-profit food pantry The Neighborhood Center of South Lake.

The event will feature “The Groveys,” awards honoring individuals and organizations for their contributions to the Groveland community. The awards are based on the city’s five strategic values: Intentionality, Connectivity, Vitality, Knowledge, and Heart.

Nominations for The Groveys were originally set to close yesterday, Sept. 12. City officials extended the submission window through Sept. 25, 2026, to allow additional time for entries recognizing community impact, service, and leadership. Members of the public may submit nominations for individuals, groups, businesses, or non-profit organizations.
