ORLANDO, Fla. — Newly released 911 calls of the June 12 mass shooting inside the Pulse nightclub in Orlando paint a picture of panic and confusion.
The Orange County Sheriff’s Office released Tuesday some of the calls made my witnesses and neighbors near the Pulse nightclub.
One caller told the Orange County Sheriff’s Office that one of the bullets hit the door of her business.
The sheriff’s office redacted the 911 call the name of the business, but she said she was inside the business when the shots were fired. No one was hurt.
One call was from a person who just left the club when the shooting started.
“I’m fine,” the caller told a dispatcher. “We were leaving the club and then as soon as we left, gunshots were going like crazy.”
A neighbor said people were banging on his door for shelter and hiding behind his car moments after the shots rang out and club-goers began running.
Omar Mateen shot and killed 49 people and wounded 53 people during the shooting in June.
Mateen was killed following a more than three-hour standoff with police.
