OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Customers of a Poinciana grocery store turned to Channel 9 after finding moldy food and mildew on the walls and ceilings.

The store manager admitted it's a health concern and said several of his customers have complained.

State health inspectors are now investigating.

A woman sent Channel 9 photos she says she snapped inside Bravo Supermarkets in Poinciana last week.

The pictures show what appears to be mold and mildew covering much of the ceiling.

When Channel 9’s Mike Manzoni went to the store, he saw the same thing, along with moldy produce, a rotting piece of food in the spice section and a bird feather in the dairy section.

The manager, who asked not to be identified, said the mold on the ceiling started a couple weeks ago when refrigerator pipes started leaking.

He showed Manzoni the new, fresh produce, but while he was there, he pulled some spoiled plantains from the shelves.

State health inspectors visited the store last year and found 347 violations.

The store was ordered to stop selling certain meats.

The manager said he plans to have the ceiling tiles fixed next week.
