ORLANDO, Fla. — Central Florida will start Friday on a dry note, but showers and thunderstorms will build through the afternoon and early evening as the sea breeze develops.
Some locations could see repeated rounds of heavy rain, which may lead to minor flooding, especially in areas that receive multiple downpours.
The strongest storms could produce gusty winds of 35 to 45 mph along with frequent lightning.

Temperatures will climb into the upper 80s and low 90s Friday.
Despite the heat, heat indices are expected to remain below Heat Advisory levels, though readings will still reach the triple digits in spots.
The hot and humid weather won’t be limited to Friday.
Central Florida is expected to remain hot and muggy throughout the entire long holiday weekend, with daily rain and storm chances continuing.
Residents and visitors should be prepared for storms during the afternoon and early evening, particularly if outdoor plans are on the schedule.
Frequent lightning and sudden downpours could make conditions hazardous at times.
