VERNON, Fla. — The death toll from Hurricane Isaias in Florida has risen, according to Gov. Ron DeSantis.

Six people have died in Florida in connection with Hurricane Isaias, five days after the storm made landfall in the state’s Panhandle.

Gov. Ron DeSantis announced the updated fatality count, which increased from two previously reported deaths.

Following the storm, the Department of Emergency Management conducted more than 600 rescue missions to assist impacted residents.

Crews across affected areas are focusing on removing downed trees and working to clear all blocked roads.
