VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — Drivers in Edgewater will need to take a detour when Indian River Boulevard closes at the railroad crossing from 7 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, until 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2.

The closure affects the stretch of Indian River Boulevard, also known as State Road 442, between India Palm Drive and Fern Palm Drive.

Florida East Coast Railway crews will replace the crossing’s surface materials to provide a smoother, safer crossing for drivers, bicyclists and pedestrians.

  • Eastbound drivers: Turn north onto Air Park Road, right onto Park Avenue and right onto U.S. 1 to return to Indian River Boulevard.

Access to homes and businesses within the closure area will remain open to local traffic.
