CENTRAL FLA — While the tropics turned active earlier this week, two systems we’ve been monitoring now have lower chances of development.
The first area, known as Invest 92L, is nearing the Lesser Antilles.
The system has become disorganized and is no longer expected to become a tropical depression.
The National Hurricane Center is giving this area a 10% chance of development.
Invest 92L will still push toward the Lesser Antilles this weekend, producing rain and squally weather.
A second area of interest is located in the open Atlantic and is also moving westward.
This area, known as Invest 94L, could slowly organize further this weekend.
Any development may be stalled due to the increased wind shear the complex will encounter next week.
This now has a 40% chance of development.
It is common for activity to increase in August in the tropical Atlantic, as we’re rapidly moving into the peak of hurricane season.
