Judge dismisses lawsuit against state, governor to block repealing Reedy Creek

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The state’s move to repeal the Reedy Creek Improvement District at Walt Disney World Resort has cleared its first court battle.

A judge dismissed the lawsuit against both the state and Gov. Ron DeSantis, which would have blocked the state from repealing Reedy Creek.

The judge said the claims are not “sufficiently mature” and is not “sufficiently defined and concrete, to permit effective decisionmaking by the court.”

The plaintiffs are expected to amend and refile their complaint next week.
