Amazon driver Jaylene Vargas Gonzalez identified in Fruitland Park death

Deputies arrived at the scene near Clark Road after receiving reports of a stationary delivery vehicle

FRUITLAND PARK, Fla. — Lake County Sheriff’s Department has issued an update about a woman found unresponsive last week inside an Amazon delivery vehicle.

Deputies identified the woman as Jaylene Vargas Gonzalez, the Amazon driver involved in the Fruitland Park incident.

The cause of death remains unknown, and Channel 9 will continue to provide updates as they become available.

Woman dies after being found unresponsive in Amazon delivery truck

A woman was found unresponsive inside an Amazon delivery vehicle Sunday evening in Fruitland Park and later died at a hospital, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 7:22 p.m. Aug. 10 to the area of Clark Road after a complainant reported that an Amazon delivery vehicle had been stationary for an extended period.

Lake County Fire Rescue and EMS also responded. The woman was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Her cause of death has not been determined. Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau are continuing to investigate.
