Organizers of the Leesburg Bikefest announced Friday that the event has been canceled.
The event, which was scheduled to take place Nov. 13-15, was originally scheduled in April, but it was postponed due to the coronavirus.
The CEO of the Leesburg Partnership said the state’s coronavirus cases aren’t where they need to be to hold such a large event.

“We needed the governor to move the state into Level 3 COVID-19 status before we could move forward with hosting an event of this magnitude," said Joe Shipes, CEO of the Leesburg Partnership.
Organizers said they are now focusing on the spring Leesburg Bikefest in April 2021.

Shipes said two other popular events, Balloons on the LakeFront and the Leesburg Craft Beer, Food and Wine Festival, were canceled and will be brought back next year.
The Christmas Stroll and Christmas Parade are still pending, according to Shipes.
