LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — A Leesburg man is behind bars on Saturday after deputies said he shot and killed his neighbor.
Lake County sheriff’s deputies responded to the Holiday RV Village on County Road 33 in Leesburg just after 9 p.m. Friday night.

Upon arriving on scene, deputies found 61-year-ol Jerry Stewart dead from a gunshot wound on the front porch of a mobile home.
The investigation led deputies to the lot next door, where they located 61-year-old Scott Rudolph sitting on his porch with a handgun near his feet and another gun close by.

According to deputies, Rudolph appeared to be intoxicated and eventually confessed to killing Stewart.
Stewart’s wife told deputies that the two men had an argument last week. She also told deputies that Stewart apologized to Rudolph a few days ago. Deputies said it is unclear what the argument was about.

Rudolph was taken into custody without incident. He is charged with first-degree murder and is being held without bond.
