GROVELAND, Fla. — The Florida Department of Transportation announced that construction for the South Lake Trail expansion in Groveland is set to start on September 14. This project will extend the trail by nearly two miles, linking Second Avenue to Silver Eagle Road.
This exciting project is the third part of the South Lake Trail development, designed to be a wonderful resource for local walkers, runners, and cyclists.
It is anticipated that the new segment will take about six months to complete, bringing significant improvements to our community’s outdoor spaces.
Drivers should expect occasional shoulder and lane closures in the construction zone, but most traffic will stay open.
Drivers are advised to slow down, stay alert and use caution when traveling through the area between Second Avenue and Silver Eagle Road.
Construction is scheduled to begin Sept. 14, with work expected to wrap up within six months.
