POLK COUNTY, Fla. — A pastor was arrested Tuesday on charges of solicitation and lewdness at the Lake Fannie Boat Ramp, Polk County detectives said.
Stephen Glenn Charest, 66, is a pastor at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Lake Wales.
Detectives said they were working undercover in Winter Haven in response to complaints of lewd activity in the area, and saw Charest walk into the woods.
The detective said he approached Charest and asked what he was doing in the wooded area. Charest asked the detective to perform oral sex on him in a public place, according to a Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
The detective arrested Charest.
Charest was booked into the Polk County Jail, but he was released after posting $250 bail.
