Law inspired by Caylee Anthony's death goes into effect

ORLANDO, Fla. — The law inspired by Caylee Anthony's death went into effect Monday in Florida.

“Caylee's law" makes it a felony to knowingly lie to law enforcement about a missing child. It carries a penalty of up to five years behind bars.

Caylee’s mother, Casey Anthony, waited 31 days to report her daughter's disappearance. She was then found guilty of lying to police when they tried to find the child.

Last year, Casey Anthony was acquitted on all murder charges related to Caylee's death.
